From "Imitation" to "Authenticity" - The Texture Philosophy of UV Boards
Why can today's UV boards make marble "unemployed"?
Ten years ago, the imitation stone-patterned boards could be easily identified as "fake" at a glance - with repetitive textures, dull colors and a cold touch. Today's UV boards, however, can make designers hesitate before touching them: Is this stone or board?
Change comes from three dimensions:
The first is resolution. The 1600dpi digital micro-spray technology records every texture of natural stone - the flickering of crystal particles, the meandering of ore veins, and the tiny holes eroded by time. This is not "imitation", but "replication".
The second is the color transition. The charm of natural famous stones lies in the "naturally formed" transition of colors, without obvious boundaries or abrupt turns. The UV process achieves this natural gradient through multi-layer superimposed coloring, truly endowing the stone-patterned board with the inclusiveness and depth of the "earth tone series".
The third is the revolution of touch sensation. Does genuine stone have a sense of warmth? No. However, through surface treatment processes, UV boards can achieve 3D concave-convex, metallic brushed, sandstone particle and other tactile effects in addition to mirror-like high gloss.
