The design brief for ASA co-extruded WPC started from this failure point. The question was not how to make a cheaper cladding - it was how to make one that holds its specification for the full rated service period without intervention.
The Role of ASA in Outdoor Applications
ASA - acrylonitrile styrene acrylate - is a thermoplastic widely used in automotive exterior trim, outdoor signage, and roofing components precisely because of its UV stability. Unlike polyethylene, ASA does not rely on UV absorber additives that deplete over time. Its resistance to UV-induced color shift and surface degradation is inherent to its molecular structure.
In this panel, ASA is co-extruded onto both faces of the WPC composite core during production - not applied as a coating after. The bond between ASA layer and WPC body is structural, not adhesive. It cannot peel, delaminate, or wear off.
Three-Layer Panel Construction

Handles all direct weather exposure. UV stable, impact resistant, chemically inert to acids, alkalis, and common cleaning agents. Holds color without fading or chalking across rated service life.
WPC composite body
Wood fiber and HDPE combined with performance additives. Provides the load-bearing structure of the panel. Dimensionally stable under thermal cycling. Zero moisture absorption at the core level.
Reinforced internal geometry
Profile cross-sections engineered to balance structural rigidity with manageable panel weight. Hollow chambers reduce mass without compromising stiffness under wind load.

Fixing System
Hidden fastener clips engage grooves on both long edges of each board. No face screws. No visible fixings. Panels expand and contract freely within the clip system across seasonal temperature ranges, preventing buckling or joint opening. Start clips align the base course; connector clips link boards at end-to-end joints. Compatible with timber batten, steel stud, and aluminium subframe systems.
